Abortion Hurts Us All

I am posting in regards to this Saturday the 23rd’s peaceful prayer vigil which will take place outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8 am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion.

It goes to show that none of us are immune to the effects of the evil of abortion and that knowing abortion is wrong in our hearts and carrying the pro-life cause there is simply not enough, not when our brothers and sisters in Christ are being killed in our neighborhoods and we are doing nothing to stop it. Every child that is killed wipes out generations to follow and effects each of our lives in a very real and profound way. Eileen Smith whose daughter died as the result of having an abortion understands this all too well. 'My daughter was killed by an abortionist.'

That is the shocking testimony of Eileen Smith,
whose daughter Laura died as the result of an
abortion this past September 13.

Laura was raised in a pro-life Christian home. Her
mother knew nothing was amiss until she received a
chilling phone call with the stunning news. 'To
say my world was rocked to its core is an
understatement.'

Eileen e-mailed me during this 40 Days for Life to
share her tragic story and to say that she had
always been pro-life in her heart, but 'I am sorry
to say, that is where it stayed. I believed if I
lived my Christian life, preached the gospel,
raised my children with Christian principles that
not only would abortion not touch my home, but we
could make converts to Christianity and thereby
lower the numbers. I was wrong on all counts.'

Eileen says she now realizes that God 'is the head
of the pro-life movement and He will guide and
direct and empower us if we but hear His voice and
follow His heart.'

She has committed the rest of her life to this
vital battle, and challenges all 'Christian
leaders make life a major priority in their
mission and pulpits.'

'I believe the Lord will continue to inspire you,'
said Eileen, 'and give you the wisdom you need to
continue and be victorious in this enormous fight
against this horrific evil. I believe we shall see
abortion be outlawed in our lifetimes. God bless
you in all you do.'
