May the Heart of Jesus, in the Most Blessed Sacrament, be praised, adored and loved with grateful affection, at every moment, in all the tabernacles of the world, even to the end of time. Amen.

to view Monsignor Philip J. Reilly’s address to the NY City council on the newly proposed clinic access law (Int. No. 826.) Please take the time to view the video as it so clearly shows the respect and love which is shown to the women who enter the clinics by those who gather to pray for them and their babies. It clearly defines the line between the culture of life and the culture of death.

May God bless you,
Mike and Kerry

Holy Virgin The Mother Of The Savior

J.M.J. +
I am posting in regards to our next peaceful prayer vigil which will take place on Saturday, the 27th of December, outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion. Please join us to sing Christmas hymns and to take an hour of prayer. Abortions also take place on Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings form 8-12 noon. If you feel compelled please bring a prayer partner and offer your prayers and fasting then.

I have included a link to a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfpK6cNPF7Y (CONTENT MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR ALL AGES). which beautifully depicts the faith and obedience to God Our Blessed Mother exemplified throughout her vocation of caring for Jesus as a child up unto His Passion. We know when we come out to pray at the abortion mill Mary stand with us at the foot of the Cross as we ask for her intercession. These tiny babies whose lives and innocent blood are shed are the very likeness of her Son who died to save us. We must not make the mistake of overlooking that there is an intimate connection between these babies whose innocent blood is shed now and the Innocent Blood which was shed once for all. As we welcome the baby Jesus this Thursday in great joy we must never forget as Mary never forgot our vocation as Christians…to stand by the foot of the Cross even when it hurts us the most. Mary remained faithful to Her Son indefinitely. She embraced the Cross even when it took the very life which she nurtured in her womb with such great love. Please prayerfully consider joining us this Saturday in great love and thanksgiving for the Birth of Our King and His most Holy Mother.

PS… For the 10 of you who came out in the snow on Saturday all I can say is that was some good Penance and thank you…these babies and mothers are so blessed to have you!

A Blessed and Holy Christmas to you and your family,
Mike and Kerry

No Room In The Inn

J.M.J+
I am posting in regards to our next peaceful prayer vigil which will take place on Saturday, the 20th of December, outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion. Please join us to sing Christmas hymns and to take an hour of prayer. Abortions also take place on Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings form 8-12 noon. If you feel compelled please bring a prayer partner and offer your prayers and fasting then. Thanks be to God and all those who came out to pray, the week prior, there was another woman who changed her mind and decided not to abort her baby.

As we approach the birth of our Savior who chose to come to us as a tiny babe, how can we refuse to acknowledge the importance of the sanctity of human life while these babies at Planned Parenthood and the Children’s Hospital at Yale are being killed right in our own neighborhoods and in front of our very eyes? Jesus said that whatever we do or do not do to the least of His brethren that we do unto Him. I cannot think of “smaller” or needier brethren of Jesus than the tiny babies who are taken into Planned Parenthood to be killed without ever knowing or feeling the love of another human being. We know we cannot save them all, but we can love them all by being there and praying for them. We can let them know the love of Christ by keeping vigil as they are sparred or more importantly as they are left alone to die. We know in consoling them we console the One who will be born on Christmas day, the tiny babe who became so small and vulnerable to save us.

It is easy to get wrapped up in the secular distractions of the Christmas season especially when we live in a world where “things” are depicted as a sure way to happiness. Excessive shopping and gift giving can take our focus off of the true meaning of Advent and Christmas. So many of us are looking for ways to help those in need especially at Christmas time and to celebrate Christ’s birth with authentic joy, that only can be found in the true offering of ourselves. As we draw closer this Advent to our Lord’s birth, we can contemplate on how Jesus, Mary, and Joseph celebrated the first Christmas. They were forced to travel further to a tiny stable because there was no room for them in the Inn. Can you picture the Holy Virgin sensing it was time for the baby Jesus to come, but there was no room, how similar to the tiny babies who have been rejected because there is no room for them in the Inn, of their mothers and family’s hearts. Can you imagine missing the very reality that the Savior whom you have long awaited was with you...the Emmanuel! That is what happened because they were too busy or distracted or tired to see Him.

If you want to grow in holiness and ever closer to Jesus this Christmas, make room for Him in your Inn…in your heart. Join us in peaceful prayer for the babies this Saturday and give the very best Christmas gift…the gift of life and love. Let us make a place for Him and His children in our hearts and pray for the opening of the hearts of others to spare the lives of these tiny and precious babes.

Wishing you and your family a very blessed and holy Christmas,
Mike and Kerry

Under The Mantle Of Our Mother

J.M.J. +
I am posting in regards to the strong desire to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe whose feast is coming this Friday, the 12th of December. Being she Is Our Mother, the Protectress of the Unborn, the patron of the Pro-life movement and of the Americas, many of us feel it important to honor her faithfulness and intercession on behalf of the Unborn. We will do this specifically by creating a strong prayer presence this Friday December 12th and by covering the hours the babies are scheduled to be killed from 8:00 am-6:00 pm at the 345 Whitney Avenue Planned Parenthood location. We are then asking for as many people as possible to either come back or join us at 6:00 pm for a candlelit vigil in the front of the Planned Parenthood Headquarters facing Whitney Avenue on the sidewalk. There we will peacefully join in prayer and song while creating a very powerful witness. We will honor Our Lady on her Feast and ask for her continued intercession for all the babies whose lives will be at risk of a horrendous death by abortion, specifically at the killing center 345 Whitney Avenue. We are most focused in covering 8:00 am till 12:00 pm noon, the time when the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion, and again especially at 6:00 pm for the candlelit vigil in hopes to create a peaceful and prayerful witness on the sidewalk adjacent to Whitney Avenue.
Please email me back as soon as possible to commit to an hour of prayer during the daytime abortion hours and/or to the Candlelit vigil time as a headcount is needed.
Thank you so much for your faithfulness and passion to stand vigil for your tiny brothers and sisters in the womb who cannot cry out for themselves, the tiny voices if we could hear them would be crying for mercy. It is an honor to know and pray with all of you.
Please do pass this message along to as many of your friends as you wish.
God bless you,
Mike and Kerry
Am I not here, who am your Mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection? Am I not the source of your joy? Are you not happily within my fold and under my arms? What else do you wish?”

Participating In God's Grace

J.M.J.+
I am posting in regards to our next peaceful prayer vigil which will take place on Saturday, the 6th of December, outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion. Please join us to to take an hour of prayer. Abortions also take place on Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings form 8-12 noon. If you feel compelled please bring a prayer partner and offer your prayers and fasting then.

This past Friday a baby was spared the horrible death of abortion due to the humble and simple efforts of two pro-life men who came out to pray the Rosary. Neither of them knew one another or what God had in store for them that morning or for that blessed child in the womb, but they trusted God and that it was necessary for them to be there and to be faithful members of the Body of Christ to which each of us belongs. When the first man arrived, no one else was there praying so he felt the urge to stay in his vehicle however he overcame his fear, got out and shortly after he began to pray a stranger walked up to him on the sidewalk asking if he could join him in prayer. This young man had seen him as he was passing by, and felt compelled to join his prayerful efforts. They prayed for hours, two simple, humble, and obedient men and God spared the life of a baby who was inside the building and very close to being aborted. God is so awesome, mystical, so beyond our understanding and He can do anything. Why it is He allows us to participate in calling upon His saving grace remains a mystery to each of us, but He does and He is asking that of each of us. He is asking that of you. On Saturday there were two more babies saved from abortion due to the prayerful efforts which take place weekly. In a world where right is construed as wrong and wrong as right your witness is needed more than ever. Please join us this Saturday and allow God’s grace to work through you…again you won’t be sorry you did.

May God bless you,
Mike and Kerry

'10,000 MASSES FOR UNBORN
BABIES' GAINS SUPPORT

MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE (December 3rd, 2008) - The January 13th - 21st, 2009 10,000 MASSES FOR UNBORN BABIES, an effort that is being coordinated by the Saint Michael the Archangel Organization, now has over 170 Masses scheduled to be offered for the protection of unborn human persons. This Novena of Masses may very well mark a pro-life first if the goal of 10,000 is met.

Masses will be offered in a variety of places, including: Saint Mary's Church/Upper Coomera(Australia); Our Lady of Humility at Casa Santa/Rome(Italy); a Carmelite Monastery(U.S.A.); Saint Mary College Chapel/Port of Spain(Trinidad); Saint John Bosco Catholic Church/Bududa(Uganda); and, Church of the Holy Family/Toronto(Canada). At least 3 priests will offer a Mass on each day of the Novena(a total of 27 masses).

"We still have a long way to go to reach the goal of 10,000, but the support already received is very encouraging," said Patrick Benedict, president of the Saint Michael the Archangel Organization and a parishioner at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in the Diocese of Memphis in Tennessee.

People who want to be a part of the 10,000 MASSES FOR UNBORN BABIES may do so by asking a priest to offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass for the protection of unborn human persons(of course, priests may do this on their own). The Mass needs to be offered on one of the following days: January 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, or 21st. Once the Mass is scheduled, then the Saint Michael the Archangel Organization should be contacted and told the date and location of the Mass. (A count of the total number of Masses scheduled to be offered is periodically updated on the homepage of the Saint Michael the Archangel Organization's website which is www.SaintMichaelTheArchangelOrganization.org.)

The contact information for the Saint Michael the Archangel Organization is as follows: email: PatrickBenedict@rcin.net; mailing address: P. O. Box 41257; Memphis, Tennessee 38174; U.S.A.

The Revised Edition of the BALTIMORE CATECHISM(#2), called A CATECHISM OF CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE(Copyright, 1941, by Confraternity of Christian Doctrine) gives the following information about the Mass:

" The Mass is the sacrifice of the New Law in which Christ, through the ministry of the priest, offers Himself to God in an unbloody manner under the appearances of bread and wine."

" The principal priest in every Mass is Jesus Christ, who offers to His heavenly Father, through the ministry of His ordained priest, His body and blood which were sacrificed on the cross."

" The Mass is the same sacrifice as the sacrifice of the cross because in the Mass the victim is the same, and the principal priest is the same, Jesus Christ."

"I know the following is obvious, but I think it needs to be said: The unborn babies can not have Masses offered for themselves. But, we can," continued Benedict. "For the love of God and for the love of His precious unborn babies, I hope many people will take part in this effort that is seeking to protect the innocents from those who would kill them.

" The father of the Culture of Death is Satan himself. To combat this 'liar' and 'murderer', one must engage in spiritual warfare. I plead to members of the Church Militant throughout the world: Have the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass offered for the protection of unborn human persons," concluded Benedict.

IS GOD CALLING YOU ?

J.M.J+
I am posting in regards to our next peaceful prayer vigil which will take place on Saturday, the 29th of November, outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion. Please join us to to take an hour of prayer. Planned Parenthood will also be open for abortions on Friday the 28th form 8-12 noon. If you have some free time please consider taking a prayer partner with you for an hour of prayer.

If you have not before, please take some prayerful time to consider joining us this Saturday while we keep vigil for the tiny babies in the womb who are in danger of losing their lives. While we are faced with an election which has left us with a leader so pro-abortion, so pro-death, it makes one wonder what we have left to fight this battle with. Many say it is too uncomfortable for them to come that close to the evil of abortion as praying on the sidewalk in front of the mill. Offering fasting and prayer from home especially at this critical time is not enough. If you are afraid to come out to pray, if it makes you uncomfortable then I say all the more come. Come out offer that fear, that insecurity, that uncomfortable feeling and join Our Blessed Mother who is always right there praying with us and ask her intercession by saying the Rosary, a simple yet beautifully comforting meditation on the Gospel. Let us give thanks for all God has given to us in our lives. There is no better way to say thank you Jesus, than giving witness to His love for each of us, especially for the Unborn. At this holiday time when we have extra free time to relax from daily routines, let us give thanks by doing penance for the Unborn and in thanksgiving for our own children who were given to us by God, such a glorious miracle we can lose sight of it in the rush of everyday life. So if you have yet to find a way to say “thank you Jesus for my life and for all I am and all I have”, come out and join us in peaceful prayer. In offering yourself for the sake of the Unborn you draw yourself ever closer to the Innocent Victim whose died for each of us, Our Lord Jesus Christ. You draw yourself ever closer to Our Blessed Mother, the Mother of us all. You draw yourself ever closer to the tiny babies who need your prayers and your sacrifice to save them. Only in eternity can one know the effect of all the prayerful efforts that take place on the sidewalk, however we know through faith that God hears our prayers and is working miracles in our midst. It could be your prayers that save a baby this Saturday or spare a mother a lifetime of pain and grief. This email could be meant just for you. Is God calling you to help His children? God has so much in store. Join us this Saturday and say yes to God’s call you won’t be sorry you did.

A very Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours,
Mike, Kerry, Michael Mario, and Clare Marie

Planned Parenthood Issues Christmas Gift Certificates: Give the Gift of Abortion
by Steven ErteltLifeNews.com EditorNovember 25, 2008
Indianapolis, IN (LifeNews.com) -- In what could easily become the most offensive Christmas offer ever a Planned Parenthood affiliate is offering Christmas gift certificates. Purchasers can use them to give the gift of abortion even though the group claims that's not its purpose or intent.
"Looking for an unusual, yet practical gift this holiday season? Planned Parenthood of Indiana (PPIN) is now offering gift certificates for services or the recipient's choice of birth control method," the abortion business says.
The gift certificates can be purchased in increments of $25 online at the group's web site or for any amount at some of PPIN's 35 statewide facilities.
While PPIN president and CEO Betty Cockrum says they can be redeemed for contraception, birth control and legitimate medical services like breast exams and Pap tests, they can also be used to pay for abortions.
"Why not buy a loved one a gift this holiday season that they really need," Cockrum says in a press release LifeNews.com obtained. "The gift certificates are also a wonderful idea for that person in your life who puts everyone else first."
"Please join Planned Parenthood of Indiana and give the gift of health this holiday season," she adds.
According to Chrystal Struben-Hall, PPIN's vice president, buyers of gift certificates can give the gift of death, too.
She confirmed to WISH-TV that they can be used for abortions, even though that's not the intended purpose.
"They really are intended for preventative healthcare. We decided not to put restrictions on the gift certificates so it's for whatever people feel they need the services for most," she said.
Indiana Family Institute President Curt Smith told the television station he is"appaled" by the gift certificates and thinks a better way to help women is to provide financial support for the dozens of pregnancy centers around the state.
"I think the way to help family planning is to give the money where there's no agenda. So if somebody wants to help a woman at a time of crisis, they can support the life centers throughout Indiana," he said.

Another 40 Days!

J.M.J.+
I am posting in regards to our next peaceful prayer vigil which will take place on Saturday, the 27th of September outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion. Please join us to to take an hour of prayer.
Today begins the 40 Days prayer campaign. Below is the starting email.
May God bless you,
Mike and Kerry

It begins!

Today is the first day of the fall 2008 40 Days forLife campaign, when people from coast-to-coast -- andaround the globe -- are beginning to fervently prayand fast for an end to abortion.Additionally, thousands of people across NorthAmerica are leaving the comfort of their homes andoffices today to pray at more than 170 abortionfacilities and Planned Parenthood centers as part ofpeaceful 40 Days for Life vigils.Tens of thousands more will join these vigils overthe next 39 days. It's fairly easy to agree to pray -- and even to fast-- for 40 days, but when asked to stand vigil outsidean abortion center or Planned Parenthood facility, itcan be much more difficult to say 'yes.'To be totally honest, I never wanted to go prayoutside an abortion facility. But there are good reasons why any 40 Days for Lifecampaign must include a constant vigil outside theplaces where innocent human beings are put to death. That one fact is reason enough -- children are dyinginside those buildings, which are often innocentlooking store fronts or locations well hidden inotherwise innocuous office parks. Many people do not know that abortions are being donein their communities. The vigil brings attention tothis, and as people begin to gain knowledge about theexistence of abortion in their neighborhoods, theybecome increasingly uncomfortable. The abortion industry does not like publicity. Theybecome very uncomfortable as word spreads of whatthey had been doing in relative secret. And they know that the presence of people peacefullypraying outside their doors is bad for business. In a press release about 40 Days for Life, ChrisCharbonneau, President and CEO of Planned Parenthoodof Western Washington admitted, 'We know from pastexperience that these rallies and prayer vigilscreate barriers that deter our patients.'Two abortion facilities have gone out of businessfollowing 40 Days for Life vigils outside their doors-- in Dallas, Texas, and Rockland County, New York. The most important reason, however, to stand in vigiloutside the abortion facilities is to show the womenentering the clinics, the family members and friendswho accompany them -- and yes, even the people whowork there -- that people care about them and arepraying for them.Women contemplating abortion often feel abandoned --by the fathers of their children, by their families, even by their friends. They resort to abortionbecause they feel they have no one to support them. When they see people quietly, peacefully prayingoutside the clinic, they come to realize that they'renot alone. When they first began thinking about abortion, it wasbecause they had no hope. The vigil can help restorethat hope.More than 500 abortion-bound women have had a changeof heart and chosen life as a result of 40 Days forLife vigils. The people who work at the abortion centers may thinkof what they do as only a job. They too may have losthope of finding a better occupation. The sight ofpeople outside praying -- all day, every day -- makesthem take a second look at what they're doing. We know of at least five former abortion workers who, because of the 40 Days for Life vigils, quit theabortion industry.None of this would have happened if everyone took the'easy' path and decided just to pray at home or atchurch. It's the example of Christ Himself that we follow. When people went to Jesus with stories of those whowere suffering, He didn't just say a prayer or twoand walk on. He went to those people. He went totheir homes. He gave of Himself to comfort them andoffer them hope.So must we.

All Life Comes From The Eucharist

Head of Vatican's Highest Court: Ministers Have 'Obligation to Deny' Communion to Pro-Abortion Politicians
By John-Henry Westen

ROME, August 19, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The head of the highest court in the Vatican has given an interview with a Roman magazine in which he notes that when dealing with pro-abortion Catholic politicians, 'the minister of the Eucharist has the obligation to deny It (Communion) to him.'
Last month, Pope Benedict XVI appointed Archbishop Raymond Burke, formerly the Archbishop of St. Louis, as the Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura, which is the highest judicial authority of the Catholic Church besides the Pope himself. In an interview published in the current edition of the Italian magazine Radici Cristiane, Archbishop Burke addresses the issue which has caused great controversy among the hierarchy in the West.
In the interview, parts of which were translated by Catholic News Agency, the Archbishop noted first that pro-abortion Catholic politicians should be publicly corrected and told not to receive: and, if they persist, they should be denied. He spoke of dealing with 'public officials' who contravene Divine and Eternal law such as 'if they support abortion, which entails the taking of innocent and defenseless human lives.'
'A person who commits sin in this way should be publicly admonished in such a way as to not receive Communion until he or she has reformed his life,' the archbishop said. 'If a person who has been admonished persists in public mortal sin and attempts to receive Communion, the minister of the Eucharist has the obligation to deny it to him. Why? Above all, for the salvation of that person, preventing him from committing a sacrilege,' he added.
The Archbishop explained that the Church does this 'not with the intention of interfering in public life but rather in the spiritual state of the politician or public official who, if Catholic, should follow the divine law in the public sphere as well,' reported Catholic News Agency.
'We must avoid giving people the impression that one can be in a state of mortal sin and receive the Eucharist,' the archbishop continued. 'Secondly, there could be another form of scandal, consisting of leading people to think that the public act that this person is doing, which until now everyone believed was a serious sin, is really not that serious - if the Church allows him or her to receive Communion.'
'If we have a public figure who is openly and deliberately upholding abortion rights and receiving the Eucharist, what will the average person think? He or she could come to believe that it up to a certain point it is okay to do away with an innocent life in the mother's womb,' he warned.

Eternal Rest

J.M.J.+
I am emailing in regards to our next peaceful prayer vigil which will take place on Saturday, the 23rd of August outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion. Please join us to to take an hour of prayer.

I just received the news that one of our fellow Helpers has been called home by the Lord. Larry Warn who had been an active member of the Helper’s movement here in New Haven for many years recently passed away. Prior to his death Larry became a spiritual supporter from home during his illness and remained united with us in prayer. His faithfulness and prayerful support never faltered throughout all of his suffering and challenges. His wife has asked that any memorial donations made in his memory please be made out to Little Miracles Crisis Pregnancy Center and sent directly to St. Margaret’s RC Church 3a Academy St. Madison, CT 06443.
Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him, may his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in peace. Amen.

Below is a pro-life article I received in regards to the deception of the abortion industry.
May God bless you,
Mike and Kerry

Former Abortionist Bernard Nathanson Exposes Lies of American Pro-Abortion Movement
"We were guilty of massive deception" says Nathanson about abortion industry
By Tim Waggoner
TORONTO, ON, July 29, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - On July 9, 2008, CFRB talk show host, Spider Jones, interviewed former abortionist Dr. Bernard Nathanson about his past involvement in the abortion movement and his conversion to the pro-life viewpoint.
At one time Nathanson was deeply entrenched in the American pro-abortion movement, having co-founded the National Abortion Rights Action League (NARAL) and overseen 75,000 abortions as director of an abortion clinic. During the CFRB program Nathanson recalled the deceitful and dishonest tactics that he and NARAL relied upon to push for the legalization and acceptance of abortion.
"We claimed that between five and ten thousand women a year died of botched abortions," he said. "The actual figure was closer to 200 to 300 and we also claimed that there were a million illegal abortions a year in the United States and the actual figure was close to 200,000. So, we were guilty of massive deception." "I mean as a founding member and chairman of the medical committee, I accepted the figures which came from a biostatistician named Christopher Tietze and he and his wife passed along these figures to us at NARAL. We were in no position to validate them or not, so we accepted them in the interests of higher standards, or at least higher objectives," he explained.
Nathanson's conversion to the pro-life movement was sparked by the advent of the ultrasound machine in the early 1970s. He related how his heart was moved to realize that a fetus is in fact a human being after he watched an unborn baby recoil from a vacuum abortion device before being sucked from its mother's womb.
Nathanson titled the video of this incident "The Silent Scream" and began using it to spread the pro-life message. Planned Parenthood, however, took a page out of NARAL's book when the abortion giant spread rumors that the video was a fake. Nathanson confirmed that these rumors, like the tactics of NARAL, were lies.
"Planned Parenthood was responsible for that," he said. "But it was not faked and what we did in order to validate it was to go to Dr. Ian Donald in Scotland, who is the father of ultra-sound, the inventor of ultra-sound and he looked at the film and he swore an affidavit that everything was as it was shown and there was no doctoring or manipulation or any changes in the speed or anything else."
Nathanson then addressed the fact that abortion is now used as a form of birth control - a result of another pro-abortion fabrication.
"One of the myths that was fed to the public through the media was that legalizing abortion would only mean that abortions taking place illegally, would be done legally. But in fact, abortion is now being used primary as a method of birth control all over the world and in the USA too."
Pro-abortion advocates "refuse to see what most people are now conceding, that the fetus is a human being and we have no business massacring it in large numbers," concluded Dr. Nathanson.

Silent No More News

J.M.J.+
I am emailing in regards to our next peaceful prayer vigil which will take place on Saturday, the 16th of August outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion. Please join us to to take an hour of prayer.

Below is some important pro-life news for CT.
May God bless you,
Mike and Kerry

Silent No More Awareness Campaign is an effort to make the public aware of the devastation abortion brings to women, men, and their families. We will no longer shroud the emotional and physical pain of abortion in secrecy and silence, but rather expose it and heal from the aftermath of abortion. We believe SNMA is a key effort in making abortion unthinkable and persuading society that women deserve better than abortion.
The campaign is a joint project of Priests for Life and Anglicans for Life and has three main goals:
· Make the public aware that abortion is harmful emotionally, physically and spiritually to women and others;
· Reach out to women and men who are hurting from an abortion and let them know help is available;
· Invite women (and men) to join us in speaking the truth about abortion's negative consequences.

We have a website where testimonies are posted and post-abortive women and men can sign up on http://www.silentnomoreawareness.org. Any sign-up information is forwarded to me and I can follow-up with them directly. Please pass this information on to any post-abortive women or men you may know. If you know anyone who is post-abortive and would like to join this group of over 7,000 post-abortion women and men, please pass the website information on to them and they can also call me with any questions.

I am planning a Silent No More Awareness Gathering at the State Capital in Hartford (north steps) for Sunday, September 7, 2008 from 2-4 pm. I would like to have the support of Bound4Life and others from your church if at all possible. I am also especially looking for pastors and clergy to support the women who will be speaking. This is the first gathering EVER in CT that I am aware of and we are trying to get as many women (and men) willing to speak and/or hold signs as possible and then enlist your prayer support and presence. I know Sundays can be challenging but would ask that you pray about it and let the Lord lead you. This gathering will be a first for many of the women speaking out so in the meantime, if you could pray for them as they prepare their testimonies (whoever the Lord wants there!) and for the team helping me to plan the gathering, I'd appreciate the prayers very much!!!!

We will be planning other events in the future and plan to participate again this year in the March for Life in Washington DC this upcoming January, 2009 and hopefully we will have a contingent of SNMA in Hartford as well. Both of these events would also be an opportunity to promote SNMA in CT. We also will be planning other events next year in different parts of the state to try to get more exposure for Silent No More Awareness in CT.

I am still trying to have Georgette Forney, one of the founders of SNMA, attend if her schedule permits. Fr. Pavone, Dr. Alveda King and Janet Morana are all traveling on this date so unable to attend.

Attached is a flyer you can distribute in your church or give to others who can help promote this gathering.

=

Since you cannot attend, can you please forward this information on to other pastors and friends who can help promote our event? Thanks!

Thank you for helping post-abortive women and men heal from the tragedy of abortion! If you have any questions, please give me a call.

In Christ,

Nicole Peck

WORLDWIDE ROSARY FOR UNBORN BABIES SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 18th

MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE (July 30, 2008) - The WORLDWIDE ROSARY FOR UNBORN BABIES prayer event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 18th, 2008. Participants will pray the Rosary during the 9:00 a.m. hour for the following intention: For an end to the surgical and non-surgical killing of unborn babies. Because participants will be praying the Rosary during the 9:00 a.m. hour according to the particular time zone they are in, it is hoped that the earth will be circled with multiple waves of Rosaries within a 24-hour time period. (If a person needs to, he/she may pray the Rosary at another time on October 18th, 2008).

" This October 18th pro-life prayer event gives people throughout the world a great opportunity to unite in prayer for unborn babies," said Patrick Benedict, President of the Saint Michael the Archangel Organization, the organization that is coordinating the WORLDWIDE ROSARY FOR UNBORN BABIES prayer event.

" The primary way to stop the killing of unborn babies is by using spiritual weaponry. One of the greatest spiritual weapons is the Rosary, and I encourage everyone to pray the Rosary on October 18th for the unborn babies," concluded Benedict.

In addition to participating, people are also encouraged to promote the WORLDWIDE ROSARY FOR UNBORN BABIES prayer event. The Saint Michael the Archangel Organization's website(www.SaintMichaelTheArchangelOrganization.org) has a one page information sheet about the prayer event available in the following languages: English, Italian, Korean, Polish, and Spanish. (Translators are still needed for Chinese, German, Japanese, Latin, Portuguese, Russian, Tagalog, and Vietnamese. Any person willing to do a translation may write a letter or send an email to PatrickBenedict@rcin.net.)

A person without internet access who wants more information about the WORLDWIDE ROSARY FOR UNBORN BABIES prayer event may send a stamped, self-addressed envelope to: Saint Michael the Archangel Organization; P. O. Box 41257; Memphis, Tennessee 38174; United States of America.

(The Saint Michael the Archangel Organization coordinated the ROSARY FOR LIFE SUNDAY prayer event(October 14th, 2007) and coordinated the ONE MILLION ROSARIES FOR UNBORN BABIES prayer event(May 3rd, 2008). The Saint Michael the Archangel Organization does not know if the goal of one million was met for the latter prayer event.)

MATTERS OF LIFE AND DEATH
Planned Parenthood fails to open doors
'I think they cannot figure out a way not to comply with law'

Posted: July 21, 200810:31 pm Eastern
© 2008 WorldNetDaily

A state law that requires abortionists to inform women – before an abortion – that the procedure "will terminate the life of a whole, separate, unique, living human being" apparently has done what no other pro-life protest has been able to accomplish – the closure of Planned Parenthood's abortion facility.
Today was the day for a federal court ruling affirming the South Dakota law to take effect, and as usual pro-life protesters gathered from several different organizations at the Sioux Falls Planned Parenthood business, as did several women who apparently had appointments.
However, a spokesman for the protest groups said no abortionists arrived and the women left after being counseled by the pro-lifer sidewalk counselors.
"I think Planned Parenthood cannot figure out a way not to comply with the law," said Dr. Allan Unruh, who with his wife has been integral in South Dakota's Vote Yes for Life campaign.
"We don't know if they will open again," he said. "Personally, I don't think they are going to find any abortionists who want to take the risk of losing their license."
That circumstance could arise if an abortionist fails to provide a woman with the state-specified information, all of which pro-life advocates describe as, and the court agreed was, scientifically accurate.
Such a failure now is illegal in South Dakota, and a violation could bring heavy penalities. Unruh said lawyers representing pro-life organizations said a violation could bring an abortionist up to two years in jail as well as loss of a medical license.
"This is huge. Time will tell what Planned Parenthood does," Unruh said. "Their attorneys are calling our attorneys saying, 'We don’t want to comply.'
"This is historic. For the first time in 35 years, Planned Parenthood has had to close its doors."
A WND call to the Planned Parenthood office late today got only an answering machine that said the office was closed.
The new law requires abortionists to explain to women that:
The abortion will terminate the life of a whole, separate, unique, living human being;
The pregnant woman has an existing relationship with that unborn human being and that the relationship enjoys protection under the United States Constitution and under the laws of South Dakota;
That by having an abortion, her existing relationship and her existing constitutional rights with regards to that relationship will be terminated;
A description of all known medical risks of the procedure including depression and related psychological stress and increased risk of suicide
The law took effect because the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals recently overturned an injunction that had stopped its implementation.
It was a 7-4 ruling that lifted the injunction against the South Dakota informed consent abortion law. Attorneys representing the Alliance Defense Fund filed a friend-of-the-court brief on behalf of the Family Research Council in defense of the law.
"A woman's life is worth more than Planned Parenthood's bottom line," said ADF Senior Counsel Jordan Lorence in a statement. "Anyone truly concerned about the interests of women supports making sure they have access to all the information necessary to make a fully informed decision. Planned Parenthood, on the other hand, has argued adamantly to restrict the information women have about the lives of their pre-born babies."
The court said U.S. Supreme Court rulings allow a state to "use its regulatory authority to require a physician to provide truthful, non-misleading information relevant to a patient's decision to have an abortion, even if that information might also encourage the patient to choose childbirth over abortion."
Unruh said not only would jail time be possible, but the door would be open for civil lawsuits, because the state law presumes that the woman is not fully informed about the procedure unless the specifics of the law are met.
He said the South Dakota pro-life movement suffered defeat only 18 months ago when voters, following an intense and costly ad campaign in support of abortions, rejected a state law that essentially would have banned abortions.
"We just changed our tactics to dry up the money," Unruh said. "Now with this disclosure law, the same initiative [is being considered] in North Dakota.
"States all over are going to rise up," he said.
It's hard for pro-abortion lawmakers to argue the plan, because they are in the position of having to argue that they don't want accurate information provided to women, he said.
"The regular abortions were cancelled today as the abortionist refused to show up, and we'll see if any other abortionists plan to take the risks involved with full disclosure of what they do to women and their unborn children," Unruh said.
"Now is the time for Christians all across America to get involved in the voteyesforlife.com campaign. We must win this initiative that will once and for all outlaw all abortions for birth control reasons," he said.

Brothers And Sisters In Christ

J.M.J.+
I am emailing in regards to our next peaceful prayer vigil which will take place on Saturday, the 19th of July outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion. Please join us to take an hour of prayer.

Planned Parenthood New Haven is certainly positioned to target the minority population. Here is an interesting article on this sad deception we witness each week. May we grow ever closer to our minority brothers and sisters and remain as their advocates in prayer, truth, and service.
May God bless you,
Mike and Kerry

MINORITY ABORTIONS

Abortion, by the numbers, is a racist institution. How so? Because abortion kills a far greater percentage of minority children in America than it does white children. The Alan Guttmacher fact sheet, Facts in Brief, reveals that, “Black women are more than 3 times as likely as white women to have an abortion, and Hispanic women are 2 1/2 times as likely.”
The Centers for Disease Control, which has began tracking the number and characteristics of women obtaining legal induced abortions since 1969, gives us these numbers. White women, who make up 75% of the female population in the U.S., account for only 55% of all U.S. abortions. Black women, who make up 12.3% of the females in the U.S, account for 35% of all U.S. abortions. “Other races” of women fill out the remaining 12.5% of the female population and account for 10% of all U.S. abortions. In terms of actual lives lost, the numbers are staggering. Each year, almost a half a million black babies are lost to abortion (based on 2000’s 1.31 million U.S. abortions). That averages out to well over 1,000 deaths a day, 365 days a year. The Life Education and Resource Network (LEARN ), the largest African- American pro-life group in the country has produced a chart which compares mortality rates in the Black
community. It shows that abortion has claimed more than two and a half times more African-American lives since 1973 than the next fi ve leading causes combined. The Centers for Disease Control tell us that 285,826 U.S. Blacks died in 2000. That’s about half of the approximately 458,500 blacks who lost their lives to abortion in that same year. To put it bluntly, abortion has thinned the black community in ways the Ku Klux Klan could have only dreamed of. It is a shameful and hidden reality. The fact that many black leaders and organizations support abortion rights does not change the reality of what is happening. The numbers don’t lie. Population estimates show that blacks will soon lose their status as the nation’s largest minority group, and abortion has been a driving force in this population shift. From 1973 to 2004, approximately 15 million blacks have lost their lives to abortion in the United States! The 2002 census shows that the black population in the U.S. stands at approximately 36 million. That means that nearly 30% of the black population has been lost to abortion, more than one in four.
Of Planned Parenthood’s 850 nationwide clinics, almost 80% reside in minority communities. Is this a bizarre coincidence, or is it merely an extension of the eugenic principles that seem to have driven Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger, a founder who is documented as saying, “We do not want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population.”2 This statement, written in a 1939 letter to a colleague, can obviously be taken in one of two ways. Either she didn’t want the black community to wrongly assume that her efforts promoting birth control were an attempt to eliminate them, or she didn’t want the black community to find out that this is exactly what she had in mind. Planned Parenthood assumes the first, her opponents assume the latter. Based on the greater context of her writings, the truth likely lies in between. She probably didn’t have in mind the elimination of all blacks, but it is quite reasonable to concur that she did want to keep them in submission and in line. Whatever the case may be, the bottom line is this. Margaret Sanger’s vision of social purification was rooted in birth control and sterilization. Compared with abortion, these were minor threats to minority communities. Planned Parenthood’s contemporary vision of social purification is much more menacing. No longer is the organization driven by pregnancy prevention, it is now driven by pregnancy elimination. We can debate the racial intent of Planned Parenthood past and present, but we cannot debate the results. Abortion is by no means an equal opportunity killer. Abortion is by no means good for the minority.

Life, Liberty, and Justice For All!

J.M.J.+
I am posting in regards to our next peaceful prayer vigil which will take place on Saturday, the 5th of July outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion.
Planned Parenthood is doing abortions this Saturday July the 5th so we need your prayer support especially on the holiday weekend.

Please enjoy this Fourth of July speech made by Frederick Douglass is 1852. It greatly exemplifies the abortion/slavery paradigm. http://www.priestsforlife.org/africanamerican/frederick-douglass-speech.htm

Thank you for making the sacrifice to come out to pray this Fourth of July weekend for the babies in the womb whose life, liberty, and justice has been taken from them.
May God bless you,
Mike and Kerry

Through Jimmy's Eyes

J.M.J.+
I am posting in regards to our next peaceful prayer vigil which will take place on Saturday, the 28th of June outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion.

I came across an article which I found disheartening as a woman and a mother. http://www.thenation.com/doc/20031222/ayrey
Along with the technological and medical advancements of Obstetrics seems to come a daunting dark shadow clouding the minds and hearts of pregnant women everywhere. I do not dispute that medical intervention is and can be a very necessary and life saving measure, however what benefit can come of prenatal labs seeking to narrow down the mother’s odds of having a “normal” baby or a second trimester ultrasound given to anatomically dissect and scrutinize the growing fetus in the womb created to point out chromosomal anomalies such as Down syndrome and Trisomy 18? Many women are unaware that these tests are not being done to benefit them or their babies, but to protect Obstetricians from being liable for not letting a woman know her odds. Bottom line is OB’s do not want to get sued. Sure there are some women who might choose to know this information to better prepare the family to lovingly accept a special needs child or a baby who has a terminal diagnosis, but for the most part this is not the case and many of these tests are inaccurate to say the least, leading women to further interventions such as Amniocentesis which can increase the risk of miscarriage. I know women who have sought abortion as their option to deal with what Obstetricians are providing as a “possible” less than perfect baby in our modern world. I cannot help but to think how truly special most children with Down syndrome are. I have a friend who had a son with Down syndrome named Jimmy. He has since passed away and she refers to him as her angel in heaven. I have learned a lot from hearing her speak about Jimmy and how he understood what life really was all about. When it was time for him to make his first Holy Communion, my friend Esther told me that there was not any Catechism for special needs kids to prepare him for the Sacrament. Esther and a few others with special needs children created a course with their priest and the children went on to make their first Holy Communion. On Jimmy’s special day he was so excited and Esther said when Jimmy went up and the priest said “The Body of Christ” Jimmy answered enthusiastically Jesus! So Esther whispered to Jimmy to say amen. After Mass the priest took Esther aside and asked her why she told Jimmy not to say Jesus but to say amen. Esther just shrugged her shoulders and said because that is how we taught him. The priest said do not worry about Jimmy, you let him say Jesus because he really understands unlike so many others who he is receiving.

Esther said that Jimmy had the utmost reverence for Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament. In his simple mind he grasped what so many of us can forget, that Jesus comes to us in the Eucharist, something to be awed to which we can take for granted. One day at Mass a boy who went up for Holy Communion did not consume the Eucharist and Jimmy watched him throw Our Lord on the floor. Esther saw Jimmy jump over the people in the pew to pick up the Eucharist he then held it up to the boy and said “Jesus, this is Jesus! No throw Jesus on the floor!” He then explained to the boy he must consume the Blessed Sacrament.

Jimmy got it. He understood things most people miss because we simply “think” too much. We scrutinize, we worry, we try to play God. Esther told me when Jimmy was born she was very angry. She did not understand what she could have done to be punished with such a sick and frail baby who needed open heart surgery and special care. Esther today says Jimmy was a gift that God sent to save her family. It restored her faith bringing her closer to God as well as restored the family unit in a special way. She now understands Jimmy’s purpose was very real and his life was never a “chromosomal mistake” or in vain. Jimmy has shown us God does not make mistakes.
Let us pray for all the Jimmys in the wombs of their mothers and for a medical model which views them as disposable accidents. Hearing Jimmy’s story has helped me to see that perhaps we are the ones with “something” wrong and kids like Jimmy are the perfect ones.
Jesus please help us.
May God bless you,
Mike and Kerry

The Numbers Don't Lie

J.M.J. +
I am posting in regards to our next peaceful prayer vigil which will take place on Saturday, the 21st of June outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion.

Below is an interesting article which debunks the myth that legalized abortion is safer for women and protects their lives. We shall continue to pray for true protection of women, as well as respect for their dignity, through life affirming medical and spiritual support enabling the choice of life for their babies and for themselves.
We look forward to praying with you on Saturday.

God bless you,
Mike and Kerry

Maternal Deaths Down In Nicaragua Once Abortion Is Eliminated
Unsuspecting pro-life cultures are regularly assaulted by the “logic” of the international abortion promoters who push their anti-life agenda into every culture that will cave in to the pressure. Their main argument goes roughly like this: “When abortion is not legal, women have abortions anyway but in unsafe conditions and back-alley clinics with untrained people who injure and kill them. All this death and injury is totally unnecessary and we could just solve the problem overnight by legalizing abortion to make it safe and keep all these poor women from dying.”
That’s the main argument which, in one form or another, is repeated ad nauseam by the abortion lobby to sympathetic healthcare providers, social workers, government leaders and the media. It can be an effective argument for legalized abortion because people are generally more willing to sacrifice the rights of the unseen child for the immediate perceived needs of the suffering woman. However, that argument is a ruse. Abortion doesn’t work the way they say it does. In reality, legalized abortion, besides killing babies, creates a climate of disrespect for women’s health that leads to a greater number of maternal deaths. Let’s take another look at the most fascinating and heroic case study in the abortion wars that our modern age has seen: Nicaragua.
That marvelous little pro-life country in Central America is a good example of what happens when a country chooses a culture of life. Remember that Nicaragua made abortion completely illegal in 2006 and then reaffirmed that prohibition in 2007. The overall positive results for Nicaraguan women have been just amazing. The abortion promoters screamed that making abortion illegal would cause women to die in droves because of more back-alley abortions, but that didn’t happen. In fact, the opposite is true—fewer women are dying now! A recent publication by Nicaragua’s Ministry of Health noted that the overall maternal mortality rate decreased by 58% in the year that abortion has been made totally illegal. There were 21 maternal deaths for 2007 compared to 50 maternal deaths the year before. This is a stunning reversal!
The lie that women will die from back-alley, “unsafe,” abortions is nothing but a scare tactic to coerce pro-life cultures into compliance with abortion. The truth is that abortion-free cultures have a greater respect for women and babies and are not subject to that degrading pall of killing that lies over the medical profession. In the case of Nicaragua, their rejection of abortion in 2006/2007 coincided—not surprisingly—with a greater provision of basic pre-natal services for pregnant women and accompaniment in childbirth which is what led to the surprising turn-around in the maternal death rate. Even aside from legal protection of babies, pro-life cultures just protect women better, it’s that simple.
We don’t have to listen to the liars who tell us that legalized abortion is “safe.” Women are much safer in countries where abortion is not legal. Abortion enthusiasts were never able to use the maternal death argument in abortion-free Ireland which has the lowest rate of maternal deaths in the world. They are also confounded by pro-life cultures like Poland that restricted abortion in 1993 and has seen a phenomenal increase in maternal wellbeing ever since.
The abortion promoters tell us that certain abortions are unsafe. They’re half right. Actually, all abortions are unsafe. The numbers don’t lie.

God's Precious Child

J.M.J. +

I am posting in regards to our next peaceful prayer vigil which will take place on Saturday, the 14th of June outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion. Saturday is the large monthly Helpers of God’s Precious Infants prayer vigil. If you have not already joined us for this please do. The details are below.

On Saturday I have the privilege of speaking with a young mother who had her 5 year old boy with her in front of PP. I began speaking to her offering her our assistance and literature when she assured me she was not coming for an abortion. She wanted me to meet her son who was almost aborted 5 years back when they did abortion at the State street women's center location. She told me that those who were out there praying that day helped her from allowing them to kill her son who she loves more than anything. The boy was smiling and joyful. I watched in great thanksgiving to Our Lord and Our Blessed Mother as I watched the two of them walk away into the busy world. For a moment looking into that little boys eyes, time truly stood still. Never underestimate what your prayers and presence can do for these mothers and babies and especially for Our Lord to whom these children belong. Come out and pray with us, these mothers and babies need you.

May God bless you,
Mike and Kerry

Dear Fellow Helpers of God's Precious Infants,

The Monthly Prayer Vigil for June will be held this coming Saturday, June 14th, outside Planned Parenthood’s state Headquarters at 345 Whitney Ave in New Haven. The Prayer Vigil will begin with the celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at 7:30 AM at Saint Mary's Church in New Haven on Hillhouse Ave. It will be followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament for half of an hour and concluded with a send off Benediction at approximately 8:30 am. We will leave Saint Mary's Church in complete silence directly after the send off Benediction (no announcement will be made) and reassemble at the parking lot of Saint Joseph’s Church at 129 Edwards Street. As soon as we arrive in the parking lot we will exit our vehicles in silence and line up to begin the Rosary and prayerful procession which will be lead by the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Msgr. Reilly has asked that no talking be permitted as we should be focused in prayer. We will then process on foot to Planned Parenthood where God’s precious infants are scheduled to be killed. This is the last month we will be processing on the sidewalk as in the future we will be escorted by the New Haven Police who will close off the roads so we can safely process in the street. At approximately 10:15 am, while still in prayer, we will process back to Saint Joseph’s church for a closing Benediction followed by light refreshments in the church hall.

With Mary At The Foot Of The Cross

J.M.J.+
I am emailing in regards to our next peaceful prayer vigil which will take place on Saturday, the 7th of June outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion.

I have included an article which quotes the Community Organizer of Planned Parenthood New Haven, Gretchen Raffa, who is responsible for recruiting college students as escorts. I thought all of those who come out to pray might find her perception of us very interesting. Her quote is in response to those of us who come out to pray each week as well as how PP has decided to try to counteract our prayerful presence which has brought peace to women and saved infants lives. The one thing I found uncharacteristic of her description of us was her label. We do not seek to be protesters, only prayers and Helpers of God’s precious infants and their mothers. We seek this through the powerful intercession of Our Blessed Mother while standing along with her at the foot of her Son’s Cross.

May God bless you,
Mike and Kerry

Planned Parenthood seeks to forge Yale alliance
BY LAURA YAO
On any given Saturday morning, there are a couple of people milling about the corner of Whitney and Edwards streets. They’re not unruly, though they’re generally quite conspicuous as they hand out fliers to women passing through the gate to Planned Parenthood. A few—the less well-mannered ones—hold signs with pictures of mangled fetuses. On Saturday mornings, Planned Parenthood provides abortions.
This is the scene that greets patients and volunteers alike as they walk up the path to the clinic’s entrance. Gretchen Raffa, a community organizer who has worked at Planned Parenthood for seven years, called the protestors a “thoughtful, prayerful” group of people. “This is not the anti-choice movement of the early ’80s and ’90s where they believed in violence, wanted to harm patients, wanted to kill doctors,” she said. “They’re actually very nice, welcoming protestors.” But still, their polite entreaties and their suggestions that a woman entering the clinic to get an abortion might go to hell were, to say the least, unwelcome.
And since protestor presence has increased inexplicably over the past seven months or so—from one or two people a day to as many as 20 during religiously significant times of the year—Raffa thought to look to Yale for more volunteers, because more friendly faces inside the clinic might make patients less anxious about the less friendly ones outside.
Last Tuesday night, a group of nearly 20 students gathered in the Women’s Center to hear Raffa speak about ways to support the Planned Parenthood volunteer program. Since only one Yale undergraduate currently volunteers in the health center this year, the turnout surpassed everyone’s expectations, said Sara Rahman, TC ’09, co-president of the Reproductive Rights Action League of Yale (RALY). Raffa spoke about the possibility of assembling a “welcome crew” of volunteers, who would serve to “keep an eye on protestors, keep them quiet, and make sure they’re not breaking the rules.”
“When there aren’t volunteers out there, the protestors might get a little more comfortable,” Raffa said. “They won’t cross the line—we have security cameras out there and they know that, they aren’t stupid—but they might knock on a couple of extra windows.”
But there was no gender diversity among the group, which Alice Buttrick, JE ’10, identified as a reason many pro-choice people, both male and female, don’t take action. “The fact that we’re lumped into ‘feminism’ is very frustrating to me, because feminism has this kind of man-hating connotation,” said Buttrick, who is the other president of RALY and an intern at Planned Parenthood. “But it’s not true, because if we hated men, we wouldn’t need reproductive rights. It’s not a women’s issue, it’s just an issue—the whole idea of reproductive rights requires two genders, or there would be no reproducing.”
And the fact that RALY meetings take place in the Women’s Center, she said, might discourage males from coming out. “Often people ask me ‘Are boys allowed?’ And of course they are, but there are paintings of the board members’ vaginas on the back wall, so I understand the hesitation.”
While Buttrick is involved with administrative aspects like organizing events and demonstrations, Kenya Lyons, JE ’08, took an entirely different route. The only Yale undergraduate volunteering in the actual health center, Lyons said her time at the clinic was an enjoyable way to further her medical training as an obstetrician/gynecologist. She interacts with patients by preparing procedure rooms, taking blood pressures, and often holding their hands afterward. “It’s the best part of my week,” she said. “It’s very hands-on, it’s a great opportunity. I’d expect dozens of volunteers, but I may be the only undergraduate here, which makes me sad.”
A possible rationale for the lack of participation and activism amongst Yale students is that “once you get to a certain point of privilege and education, people tend to ignore this issue, and that’s damaging,” Buttrick said. “There’s a very pro-choice feeling here, so nobody feels like they need to do anything about it. All these issues are neglected after a certain point of acceptance, and I think it’s somewhat offensive.”
Lyons would like to see more student involvement on the health side. “If you’re pro-choice and interested in medicine, it’s a good idea to see an abortion being performed. A lot of people don’t have a good idea of what it involves,” she said. “There are a lot of misconceptions: They think of women who are very young, who have no kids. They also tend to think they’re irresponsible, or that they are making a split-second decision. But actually a lot of the women we see are married, in their thirties, and can’t have more kids for health or financial reasons.”
But she also echoed the need for volunteers to keep the protestors quiet. “I walk to the clinic, and even though I’ve been volunteering for a couple of months they still think I’m a patient, they still give me flyers, which makes me very sensitive to what patients go through,” she said. “I understand abortion is very controversial, but it comes down to the fact that an abortion is a medical procedure, and it’s no one else’s business. It’s just inappropriate to ask about someone else’s medical procedure.”

The Helpers of God's Precious Infants Greater New Haven

J.M.J.+
I am emailing in regards to our next peaceful prayer vigil which will take place on Saturday, the 31st of May outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion.

As the new President of the Helpers of God’s Precious Infants Greater New Haven I had the privilege, along with my family of being invited to spend a weekend at the Monastery of the Precious Blood with Msgr. Philip Reilly. There I had the opportunity to train one on one with him in regards to the Helpers Spirituality, sidewalk counseling and the organizational methods he employs at both his small “prayerful presence” vigils he holds daily as well as his large monthly vigil. Monsignor graciously critiqued the way our large monthly vigils have been running and has left me with great confidence in how we can improve our apostolate here in New Haven and encourage it to grow. The opportunity has been greatly fruitful and enlightening and I will be calling a meeting in the near future to explain to each of you in detail the positive changes which we will be making under the guidance of Msgr. Reilly at our weekly vigils as well as our large monthly. It is our goal to make our apostolate uniform to that of the Helpers in NY, which is how it was intended to be, and when we reach that goal to invite our Bishops as well as Monsignor to lead us in prayer as we process from the Church to the abortion Mill. He has agreed to come whenever we are ready for him. Please feel free to once again review the Helpers New York website at http://www.helpersbrooklynny.org/.

Our apostolate both weekly and Monthly has always followed the Helpers spirituality of fasting, peaceful prayer (especially the Rosary), and offering ourselves at the foot of the Cross as we pray and keep vigil. Before I was asked to be President of the Helpers of God’s Precious Infants Greater New Haven, we watched the pro-life prayer presence form outside Planned Parenthood each Saturday, growing by the grace and the will of God. It gives me great joy to be able to officially unite this beautiful prayerful presence all of you have created weekly, with the large monthly Helpers Prayer Vigils as one apostolate. In light of my new responsibility as President of the Helpers and with Msgr. Reilly’s joyful blessing I am pleased to be clear in saying our apostolate officially has a name. We are the Helpers of God’s Precious Infants Greater New Haven. It is with great happiness and anticipation I look forward to sharing the further details with you. I will be in touch soon with information about our upcoming meeting.

May God bless you,
Mike and Kerry

The Mother Of All Mothers

J.M.J +
I am posting in regards to our next peaceful prayer vigil which will take place on Saturday, the 24th of May outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion.

Below is a beautiful poem written by one of the Sisters from the Monastery of the Precious Blood where Msgr. Reilly is chaplain. Holy Mary, Mother of God and Mother of all Mothers, Pray for us.
May God bless you,
Mike and Kerry

Solace and Love

Come, grieving child, let me a mother be, Your tears, your agony of soul are known to me. Such pain no heart should have to bear alone, Come close and let me make your grief my own.
How well I know a mother's pain of loss! I watched my own Son die upon the Cross. No hymn Sublime, No earthly work of art Can tell of empty arms and broken heart.
But Oh, my child, His dying words ring true: Forgive them, for they know not what they do. Those Outstretched arms forevermore embrace repentant souls that seek His saving grace.
Go then to Jesus and be reconciled, Tell Him your grief for your aborted child. Open to Him your heart, your inmost soul, He yearns for you and longs to make you whole.
Place in His Heart your guilt, your pain, Your fears, and let His gentle hand dry all your tears. Hear His absolving words and, through His Blood, find pardon, peace, and everlasting love.
Forgiven by God, forgive yourself, then, too, Your precious child forgives and waits for you. Yes, till the day you see it face to face, I'll keep your baby safe in my embrace.

Exorcist Draws Huge Crowd
Friday, December 7th, 2007: Vigil of the Immaculate Conception, Baltimore, MD -Fr. Tom Euteneuer, president of Human Life International and an exorcist in the Diocese of Arlington, VA, was scheduled to speak Friday night at St. Agnes Church in Catonsville, MD. The talk, part of the ongoing Defend Life lecture series, was "An Evening with an Exorcist: The Demonic Abortion Connection" (see the end of this article for instructions on receiving a free copy of this talk on CD).Planners for the event expected 50 to 100 people to attend, which would have been a good showing for similar lecture events sponsored by Defend Life. But Fr. Carl Cummings, pastor of St. Agnes, and Jack Ames, Director of Defend Life, were stunned when more than 200 people streamed through the door into the Old School Hall, filling all of the extra chairs that were being quickly set up to handle the large crowd. With all 192 available chairs filled, people were left sitting on tables and standing in the back. All were eager to hear Fr. Euteneuer's account of his experiences in spiritual warfare. Despite the large number of people in the Hall, you could nearly hear a pin drop as Fr. Euteneuer began with the long form of the St. Michael prayer in Latin. He prefaced the prayer by saying that we may not understand what he was about to say, but any evil demons who might be present will certainly know and understand his words. The St. Michael prayer was composed by Pope Leo XIII near the turn of the 20th Century after allegedly hearing a conversation between God and Satan. It carries with it an exorcism prayer, asking St. Michael to bind demons and cast them into Hell. Why were so many people present? Perhaps it is because people are hungering for the truth of the demonic and Jesus' power over evil spirits. Anyone with eyes to see can figure out that there must be a demonic influence behind many of the afflictions and problems people are faced with today. And in an age where religion is held as inconsequential and an opiate of the masses, people are hungering for spiritual truth. When asked if he felt whether or not there is an increasing sense of spiritual presence in our lives in these times (both good and bad), Fr. Euteneuer said, "The short answer is YES." He went on to say that nature abhors a vacuum, and the same is true in the spiritual realm. He said that there is a growing divide between those who believe in God and his power over our lives and society and those who either are indifferent or who are outright evil. And both sides are becoming more and more intense. "The divide can be seen in our political parties, our local communities, and in the media," he said.People are hungering for the truth. They were so rapt with Fr. Euteneuer's account that hardly a soul left during the hour and a half talk. In fact, most people remained behind and formed a long line in front of him to ask questions, receive blessings, and get advice, staying for more than three hours.Preceding the talk, Fr. Euteneuer and 27 faithful gathered in prayer outside of the local abortion facility, the Hillcrest Clinic in Catonsville. They prayed the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary, and afterwards Fr. Euteneuer prayed spiritual binding prayers against all of the demons and demonic influence effecting the building and all those who participate in the abortions there.A free copy of Fr. Euteneuer's talk, including the extensive question and answer session afterwards, is available by sending your name and address to: CDs@defendlife.org.

Killing Our Children's Children

J.M.J. +
I am posting in regards to our next peaceful prayer vigil which will take place on Saturday, the 10th of May outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion.

Below is an article in regards to a CT Planned Parenthood case which sadly is not an isolated case in regards to sexual abuse cover up and the abortion industry. Let’s pray for these women, their babies, and their families.
God bless,
Mike and Kerry

Connecticut Women Involved in Abortion-Sexual Abuse Coverup Case Plea
by Steven ErteltLifeNews.com EditorMay 7, 2008
Hartford, CT (LifeNews.com) -- Two women who allegedly helped a man kidnap and sexually abuse a teenage girl entered a no contest plea on Tuesday. The case is one of the latest in the problematic new national phenomenon of abusers using abortions to hide evidence of sexual assault.
Authorities say an unnamed 15-year-old girl ran away from home last June to live with 41 year-old Adam Gault, a family acquaintance, without her parents knowledge. After getting her pregnant, Gault reportedly took the girl to a Planned Parenthood in West Hartford where she had an abortion.
Gault has pleaded guilty to a variety of charges in connection with the kidnapping and alleged sexual abuse.
Yesterday, Kimberly Cray and Ann Murphy entered pleas in Hartford Superior Court responding to charges of kidnapping, conspiracy and risk of injury to a minor.
The women lived in the West Hartford home with Gault, according to The Day newspaper, and they could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted on the charges.
The girl would not tell abortion facility officials the name of the father but officials, last August, obtained the remains of the baby and DNA obtained form the unborn child matched Gault's DNA.
Planned Parenthood did not appear to report the 15 year-old pregnancy or her desire for an abortion to officials to look into the possibility she was sexually abused.
Police had been searching for the girl for some time and didn't stumble across her until they searched Gault's home over a month after the abortion. The Day said Gault repeatedly told officials he had no information about the location of the girl.
Officials say the two women helped Gault hide the girl despite knowing she had been reporting missing and that her parents were searching for her.
"They're as complicit as Adam Gault,” Marc Needelman, an attorney for the girl and her family, said Tuesday, according to the newspaper. "They were not innocent bystanders. They looked away and allowed him to do what he did.”
All three await a July 11 sentencing hearing.
Planned Parenthood and other abortion businesses in various states have come under fire for not reporting cases of sexual abuse or statutory rape to authorities.
In May, the employee of another Connecticut abortion business took an underage girl there for an abortion to hide his actions.

Our Lady Melts Hearts

J.M.J. +
I am posting in regards to our next peaceful prayer vigil which will take place on Saturday, the 3rd of May outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8 am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion.

Mike Ferraro has brought it to my attention that this Saturday when many of us will be praying the Rosary at Planned Parenthood, the Saint Michael the Archangel Organization is asking all the faithful to participate in the ONE MILLION ROSARIES FOR UNBORN BABIES prayer event. This event is asking for the faithful to pray the Rosary for an end to abortion from 9 am until 10 am eastern standard time. If you can please join us at 9 am at Planned Parenthood to join in solidarity with this prayer event. It will be very powerful to join in union with all those praying throughout the United States while at the abortion mill. If you will be praying from home please also consider joining in this event.

Below is more information and an excerpt from their site at http://www.saintmichaelthearchangelorganization.org/index.php

Please also keep Gretchen who is an employee at Planned Parenthood in your prayers. I had a conversation with her on Saturday which was such a grace. She commented on our apostolate and how peaceful we were. She was touched by what peaceful and good people we were. She actually said to me she understands why we are there and respects that. Those who come out to pray understand how only Our Lady could be responsible for such a grace, as the employees are told never to speak to us. She actually walked over to me and asked if she could speak with me. It was quite remarkable to encounter. This also happened at the very moment Jan pulled up with the large image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. We believe Our Lord has special plans for Gretchen, let us keep praying for her conversion! Praise be to God and thank you Blessed Mother for your prayers!

God bless you,
Mike and Kerry

Christ Obedient For Us Unto Death

J.M.J. +
I am posting in regards to our next peaceful prayer vigil which will take place on Saturday, the 26th of April outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion.

Planned Parenthood of New Haven is feeling the spiritual effects of your prayers, their business is suffering, and they are responding. That is why it is so important for us to remain vigilant in peaceful prayer each week. The escorts seem to be more aggressive in trying to keep us away from the women, as fewer are showing up for abortions and others are changing their minds. Regardless of their tactics to intimidate (taking our pictures etc) please continue to remain in prayer just as Our Blessed Mother stood at the foot of the Cross silent and present to Our Lord. We must always go there and remain in the mindset that we are praying at Calvary with Jesus and Mary as our models for conduct. We do not respond to persecution with retaliation only with prayer and obedience to God. We do not yell out judgmental and angry comments to the abortionist or staff. We look to Jesus who freely became obedient for us unto death, never once speaking out against those who killed Him. This past Friday and Saturday very few women came for abortions in comparison to our usual observations and the parking lot seemed to be filled mostly with staff. Praise God! Let us continue God’s work at Planned Parenthood and witness to the love of Christ which is the only way to encourage the conversion of hearts.
Margaret Blume from Choose Life at Yale has asked me to pass on the following announcement below to all who wish to participate.
May God bless you,
Mike and Kerry

God's Plan For Life

J.M.J. +
I am posting in regards to our next peaceful prayer vigil which will take place on Saturday, the 19th of April outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion.

It is clear to each of us who come out on Saturday to pray at the abortion mill that the culture of death is all around us. However you need not be that close and center to see this culture on a daily basis in our everyday lives. This perversion of the truth which has brought mother to the understanding to have a better life she can and should kill her own children has made it abundantly clear that one must be watchful in understanding that what is bad is often presented as good by the world and what is good is often presented as what is bad. How did it all get so distorted we wonder? what has brought a once morally conscious society to the pits of hell where a child in the womb is no longer a life? One could certainly write a dissertation on this subject however we know that altering God’s plan for our lives in any way is always at the very root of such destruction. Contraception is really at the very root of abortion. God has a plan for sex and marriage and when we alter His plan rejecting His great love and protection for us we fall, just like Adam and Eve did. Let us pray for an end to abortion, but also for an end to contraception and a renewed obedience to God’s plan for sex, Marriage and chastity. Here is a wonderful website on God’s plan for life. http://www.godsplanforlife.org/

May God bless you,

Helper's of God's Precious Infants

J.M.J. +
I am posting in regards to our next peaceful prayer vigil which will take place on Saturday, the 12th of April outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion.

The Helpers of God’s Precious Infants Monthly Vigil is also on Saturday the 12th. If you feel called to participate more fully by beginning the Vigil with the celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass followed by Exposition, Adoration, and Benediction, please join us at Saint Mary’s Church at 7:30 am. The Helper’s of God’s Precious Infant’s Prayer Vigil begins with the celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at 7:30 AM at Saint Mary's Church in New Haven Ct on Hillhouse Ave. It will be followed by a half hour adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and concluded with a send-off Benediction at 8:30 am. We leave Saint Mary's and reassemble at the parking lot of Saint Josephs Church at 129 Edwards St. We then process on foot praying the Rosary, while following the Crucifix of Our Lord and the Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, to the Planned Parenthood Killing Center at 345 Whitney Avenue New Haven. After the Prayer Vigil, at about 10:30 am, we will process back to Saint Josephs for the final closing Benediction. That will be followed by some light refreshments in the Church Hall.

The Vigils that we hold weekly are mirrored after Monsignor Reilley’s follow up vigils which he holds daily to compliment the large monthly vigil which he and the Helper’s in New York hold monthly.
Please take some time to check out the Helper’s NY website at http://www.helpersbrooklynny.org/ to learn more about this worldwide pro-life movement.
May God bless you,
Mike and Kerry
