Helper of God's Precious Infants at New Haven Planned Parenthood

J.M.J+
Dear Fellow Helpers,
I am posting in regards to our next peaceful prayer vigil which will take place on Saturday, the 31st of January, outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion. Please join us and take an hour of prayer. Abortions also take place on Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings form 8-12 noon. If you feel compelled please bring a prayer partner and offer your prayers and fasting then.

I have spoken to many people who are feeling just downright defeated with new President Obama in office. On the political horizon let’s face it, things are not looking good for the Unborn and we very well may be faced with one of the most pro-abortion and pro-death leaders we have ever seen. What are we to do I have been asked over and over by others and in my own mind?

At first glance it is true things are not looking good for the Unborn. With Obama’s rescind of the Mexico City policy and his promise to sign the Freedom of Choice act I think many pro-lifers are thinking of throwing the towel in when it comes to any chance that our Culture of Death will be enlightened to one of Life. However we must not forget that God is in control. He is in control of all of this, He always has been and He always will be. Why He does things the way He does we will not understand, but we should make no mistake in believing He can turn this Political nightmare into a glorious rejuvenation of the pro-life movement.

It seems now more than ever, God is seeking us to do His work on a personal and prayerful level. Could it be His plan is aimed at reducing apathy of His people where the killing takes place? Perhaps He is leaving us little choice to allow others to do our christianly duty. Is it possible he is reinforcing for us what we have always known… that this battle is a spiritual one that can only be won through prayer and fasting?

When one comes to truly understand the horror of what is happening in these innocuous looking buildings in our own neighborhoods, where babies are killed, it becomes imperative to do whatever we can to try to humanely stop it…protesting, lobbying, petitioning, even educating the public, however none of these take the place of being present at the killing scene. Prayer and witness where the killing takes place is what God is calling us to do all the more. Don’t you think?

We have tried everything and it seems God has taken everything away from us…except for fasting, witness and prayer at the scene. It makes one wonder…Is He is trying to tell us something? And I am ready to listen?

I came across an excerpt from a speech Monsignor Reilly gave as a part of a Defend Life series at Loyola College. I feel it so much speaks to us today in the world we are facing when the enemy to Obama in office has become the unborn child. Please read it and prayerfully consider what God is asking of you as we face this New Year under the leadership of President Obama.

May God bless you,
Mike and Kerry
Today it is hard to understand that our culture is radically different from what it was a short time ago. It is hard to understand that you cannot simply go along with the tide--that you have become part of the counter-culture and that, like Thomas More, you will be persecuted for standing up for the truth.
The Holy Father says, in the encyclical, Evangelium Vitae, that there is a clear, grave moral obligation to oppose the abortion/death culture. You cannot compromise your position, even if it is at great cost to you; you have to make a choice to be clearly, totally pro-life.
At this point, it's absolutely clear to all that with abortion, we are killing human beings.
When there is no outrage that we have killed 32 million babies since Roe v. Wade, no outrage when the method of partial birth abortion is described and discussed, this tells you that we are not only into the culture of death, we are buying it.
What was the effect on young people when Norma McCorvey, the Roe of Roe v. Wade, came over to the pro-life side? Nothing. Young people don't know who she is, and they don't care. They've grown up with a culture of death. It's a way of solving their problems.
Who will change it? How will we bring about a culture of life?
I've tried all the different methods--withholding my taxes, rescuing, protesting; I went to the first March on Washington, in 1974. There were 5,000 protesters then. Over the years, the number grew to
But there has been a great sense of frustration in the pro-life ranks. With the March on Washington, for example, the media always lied about the number of protesters. When we went to lobby the representatives, the ones you needed to see wouldn't be in their office that day.
We tried everything. We got to a point where we said, let's try God.
The Holy Father said, you're not dealing with flesh and blood, you're dealing with principalities and powers, and to think you're going to be able to overcome this simply by human techniques is foolish. Prayer and fasting alone will be the ultimate instruments of winning this battle.
In the pro-life movement there is need for long-range programs such as education and lobbying to change legislation.
But you will lose credibility if nobody is present at the spot where lives are being taken, because this is war, and no prisoners are being taken. The victims do not have faces you can put on TV. They depend totally on others to stand up for them.
Some people in the pro-life movement must go to this new Calvary, where innocent blood is being shed.
The blood of Christ is not a sign of death. It is a source of ultimate victory for those in the pro-life movement. Without it and the intercession of the Mother of God, this victory can't be won.
Operation Rescue went to the abortion clinics, but their approach became confrontational.
But the war is over. You're not in the front lines; get that out of your head. We lost the war; you are behind enemy lines. When you're behind enemy lines, in occupied territory, you have to fight differently.
If you go there and say, 'Babies are being killed, we've got to get them out!' they're going to take you away. You are not going to the clinics to save the physical life of the baby; you're going there for the conversion of the abortionist, the mother, the people going in.
A lot of pro-lifers who go to clinics are like Peter, ready to take out a sword and lop off a few ears. Jesus said, put away the sword. He shows us we must be there with the long-suffering and patience of Christ.
When you are present at Calvary, you have to be there beside Mary and John at the foot of the cross. You don't say anything nasty to the people who work there, you don't call them names, you don't intimidate.
You be there in a prayerful, loving, compassionate presence, and you will be amazed at what happens to the personnel and people going in. The more peaceful and prayerful you are, the more God takes over.
When you go and you do this in the Lord, you are never there unsuccessfully. Your presence and your prayers may touch that mother's heart, maybe not today, maybe not five years from now--maybe 20 years from now.
Nothing done in the Lord is ever done in vain, united in the blood of Christ and done for the reason of conversion.
You are called at this moment in history to be the salt of the earth, to be light. For one reason or another, you know know more than others.
Maybe centuries from now, people will look back at you and say, my God, you were marvelous people!
When the world was going into darkness--and it is--you kept the light burning.
Go and do it. Thousands of people are doing it--because it's God's work.

Helpers of God's Precious Infants Vigil

J.M.J+
The Monthly Prayer Vigil for January will be held this coming Saturday, January 10th, outside the Children's Hospital at Yale on Park Street in New Haven. The Prayer Vigil begins with the celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at 7:30 AM at Saint Mary's Church in New Haven on Hillhouse Ave. It will be followed by Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament for half of an hour and concluded with a closing Benediction at approximately 8:30 am. We will leave Saint Mary's Church in complete silence directly after the send off Benediction (no announcement will be made) and reassemble at the parking lot of Saint Anthony's Church at 25 Gold Street, New Haven. We then process on foot to the Children's Hospital at Yale where God’s precious infants are scheduled to be killed. At approximately 10:15 am, while still in prayer, we will process back to back to Saint Anthony's Church for a closing Benediction followed by light refreshments in the church hall.
The Sisters of Life have requested our prayers, especially this coming Saturday as they are having a day of healing for women who have been hurt by abortion. I assured them we would pray especially this Saturday before the Blessed Sacrament during the Helpers Vigil. Please also remember in your prayers Melissa (who will be keeping her baby thanks be to God and your prayers!), Melinda who is having preterm labor, Theresa who is struggling after her abortion, and Jahre whose girlfriend aborted their child without his knowledge. He very much wanted that baby. Thank you for your continued prayers.
God bless,
Mike and Kerry

to view Monsignor Philip J. Reilly’s address to the NY City council on the newly proposed clinic access law (Int. No. 826.) Please take the time to view the video as it so clearly shows the respect and love which is shown to the women who enter the clinics by those who gather to pray for them and their babies. It clearly defines the line between the culture of life and the culture of death.

May God bless you,
Mike and Kerry

Holy Virgin The Mother Of The Savior

J.M.J. +
I am posting in regards to our next peaceful prayer vigil which will take place on Saturday, the 27th of December, outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion. Please join us to sing Christmas hymns and to take an hour of prayer. Abortions also take place on Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings form 8-12 noon. If you feel compelled please bring a prayer partner and offer your prayers and fasting then.

I have included a link to a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfpK6cNPF7Y (CONTENT MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR ALL AGES). which beautifully depicts the faith and obedience to God Our Blessed Mother exemplified throughout her vocation of caring for Jesus as a child up unto His Passion. We know when we come out to pray at the abortion mill Mary stand with us at the foot of the Cross as we ask for her intercession. These tiny babies whose lives and innocent blood are shed are the very likeness of her Son who died to save us. We must not make the mistake of overlooking that there is an intimate connection between these babies whose innocent blood is shed now and the Innocent Blood which was shed once for all. As we welcome the baby Jesus this Thursday in great joy we must never forget as Mary never forgot our vocation as Christians…to stand by the foot of the Cross even when it hurts us the most. Mary remained faithful to Her Son indefinitely. She embraced the Cross even when it took the very life which she nurtured in her womb with such great love. Please prayerfully consider joining us this Saturday in great love and thanksgiving for the Birth of Our King and His most Holy Mother.

PS… For the 10 of you who came out in the snow on Saturday all I can say is that was some good Penance and thank you…these babies and mothers are so blessed to have you!

A Blessed and Holy Christmas to you and your family,
Mike and Kerry

No Room In The Inn

J.M.J+
I am posting in regards to our next peaceful prayer vigil which will take place on Saturday, the 20th of December, outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion. Please join us to sing Christmas hymns and to take an hour of prayer. Abortions also take place on Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings form 8-12 noon. If you feel compelled please bring a prayer partner and offer your prayers and fasting then. Thanks be to God and all those who came out to pray, the week prior, there was another woman who changed her mind and decided not to abort her baby.

As we approach the birth of our Savior who chose to come to us as a tiny babe, how can we refuse to acknowledge the importance of the sanctity of human life while these babies at Planned Parenthood and the Children’s Hospital at Yale are being killed right in our own neighborhoods and in front of our very eyes? Jesus said that whatever we do or do not do to the least of His brethren that we do unto Him. I cannot think of “smaller” or needier brethren of Jesus than the tiny babies who are taken into Planned Parenthood to be killed without ever knowing or feeling the love of another human being. We know we cannot save them all, but we can love them all by being there and praying for them. We can let them know the love of Christ by keeping vigil as they are sparred or more importantly as they are left alone to die. We know in consoling them we console the One who will be born on Christmas day, the tiny babe who became so small and vulnerable to save us.

It is easy to get wrapped up in the secular distractions of the Christmas season especially when we live in a world where “things” are depicted as a sure way to happiness. Excessive shopping and gift giving can take our focus off of the true meaning of Advent and Christmas. So many of us are looking for ways to help those in need especially at Christmas time and to celebrate Christ’s birth with authentic joy, that only can be found in the true offering of ourselves. As we draw closer this Advent to our Lord’s birth, we can contemplate on how Jesus, Mary, and Joseph celebrated the first Christmas. They were forced to travel further to a tiny stable because there was no room for them in the Inn. Can you picture the Holy Virgin sensing it was time for the baby Jesus to come, but there was no room, how similar to the tiny babies who have been rejected because there is no room for them in the Inn, of their mothers and family’s hearts. Can you imagine missing the very reality that the Savior whom you have long awaited was with you...the Emmanuel! That is what happened because they were too busy or distracted or tired to see Him.

If you want to grow in holiness and ever closer to Jesus this Christmas, make room for Him in your Inn…in your heart. Join us in peaceful prayer for the babies this Saturday and give the very best Christmas gift…the gift of life and love. Let us make a place for Him and His children in our hearts and pray for the opening of the hearts of others to spare the lives of these tiny and precious babes.

Wishing you and your family a very blessed and holy Christmas,
Mike and Kerry

Under The Mantle Of Our Mother

J.M.J. +
I am posting in regards to the strong desire to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe whose feast is coming this Friday, the 12th of December. Being she Is Our Mother, the Protectress of the Unborn, the patron of the Pro-life movement and of the Americas, many of us feel it important to honor her faithfulness and intercession on behalf of the Unborn. We will do this specifically by creating a strong prayer presence this Friday December 12th and by covering the hours the babies are scheduled to be killed from 8:00 am-6:00 pm at the 345 Whitney Avenue Planned Parenthood location. We are then asking for as many people as possible to either come back or join us at 6:00 pm for a candlelit vigil in the front of the Planned Parenthood Headquarters facing Whitney Avenue on the sidewalk. There we will peacefully join in prayer and song while creating a very powerful witness. We will honor Our Lady on her Feast and ask for her continued intercession for all the babies whose lives will be at risk of a horrendous death by abortion, specifically at the killing center 345 Whitney Avenue. We are most focused in covering 8:00 am till 12:00 pm noon, the time when the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion, and again especially at 6:00 pm for the candlelit vigil in hopes to create a peaceful and prayerful witness on the sidewalk adjacent to Whitney Avenue.
Please email me back as soon as possible to commit to an hour of prayer during the daytime abortion hours and/or to the Candlelit vigil time as a headcount is needed.
Thank you so much for your faithfulness and passion to stand vigil for your tiny brothers and sisters in the womb who cannot cry out for themselves, the tiny voices if we could hear them would be crying for mercy. It is an honor to know and pray with all of you.
Please do pass this message along to as many of your friends as you wish.
God bless you,
Mike and Kerry
Am I not here, who am your Mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection? Am I not the source of your joy? Are you not happily within my fold and under my arms? What else do you wish?”

Participating In God's Grace

J.M.J.+
I am posting in regards to our next peaceful prayer vigil which will take place on Saturday, the 6th of December, outside Planned Parenthood (345 Whitney Avenue New Haven) from 8am until 12 pm noon, the hours which the babies are scheduled to be killed by abortion. Please join us to to take an hour of prayer. Abortions also take place on Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings form 8-12 noon. If you feel compelled please bring a prayer partner and offer your prayers and fasting then.

This past Friday a baby was spared the horrible death of abortion due to the humble and simple efforts of two pro-life men who came out to pray the Rosary. Neither of them knew one another or what God had in store for them that morning or for that blessed child in the womb, but they trusted God and that it was necessary for them to be there and to be faithful members of the Body of Christ to which each of us belongs. When the first man arrived, no one else was there praying so he felt the urge to stay in his vehicle however he overcame his fear, got out and shortly after he began to pray a stranger walked up to him on the sidewalk asking if he could join him in prayer. This young man had seen him as he was passing by, and felt compelled to join his prayerful efforts. They prayed for hours, two simple, humble, and obedient men and God spared the life of a baby who was inside the building and very close to being aborted. God is so awesome, mystical, so beyond our understanding and He can do anything. Why it is He allows us to participate in calling upon His saving grace remains a mystery to each of us, but He does and He is asking that of each of us. He is asking that of you. On Saturday there were two more babies saved from abortion due to the prayerful efforts which take place weekly. In a world where right is construed as wrong and wrong as right your witness is needed more than ever. Please join us this Saturday and allow God’s grace to work through you…again you won’t be sorry you did.

May God bless you,
Mike and Kerry

'10,000 MASSES FOR UNBORN
BABIES' GAINS SUPPORT

MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE (December 3rd, 2008) - The January 13th - 21st, 2009 10,000 MASSES FOR UNBORN BABIES, an effort that is being coordinated by the Saint Michael the Archangel Organization, now has over 170 Masses scheduled to be offered for the protection of unborn human persons. This Novena of Masses may very well mark a pro-life first if the goal of 10,000 is met.

Masses will be offered in a variety of places, including: Saint Mary's Church/Upper Coomera(Australia); Our Lady of Humility at Casa Santa/Rome(Italy); a Carmelite Monastery(U.S.A.); Saint Mary College Chapel/Port of Spain(Trinidad); Saint John Bosco Catholic Church/Bududa(Uganda); and, Church of the Holy Family/Toronto(Canada). At least 3 priests will offer a Mass on each day of the Novena(a total of 27 masses).

"We still have a long way to go to reach the goal of 10,000, but the support already received is very encouraging," said Patrick Benedict, president of the Saint Michael the Archangel Organization and a parishioner at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in the Diocese of Memphis in Tennessee.

People who want to be a part of the 10,000 MASSES FOR UNBORN BABIES may do so by asking a priest to offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass for the protection of unborn human persons(of course, priests may do this on their own). The Mass needs to be offered on one of the following days: January 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th, or 21st. Once the Mass is scheduled, then the Saint Michael the Archangel Organization should be contacted and told the date and location of the Mass. (A count of the total number of Masses scheduled to be offered is periodically updated on the homepage of the Saint Michael the Archangel Organization's website which is www.SaintMichaelTheArchangelOrganization.org.)

The contact information for the Saint Michael the Archangel Organization is as follows: email: PatrickBenedict@rcin.net; mailing address: P. O. Box 41257; Memphis, Tennessee 38174; U.S.A.

The Revised Edition of the BALTIMORE CATECHISM(#2), called A CATECHISM OF CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE(Copyright, 1941, by Confraternity of Christian Doctrine) gives the following information about the Mass:

" The Mass is the sacrifice of the New Law in which Christ, through the ministry of the priest, offers Himself to God in an unbloody manner under the appearances of bread and wine."

" The principal priest in every Mass is Jesus Christ, who offers to His heavenly Father, through the ministry of His ordained priest, His body and blood which were sacrificed on the cross."

" The Mass is the same sacrifice as the sacrifice of the cross because in the Mass the victim is the same, and the principal priest is the same, Jesus Christ."

"I know the following is obvious, but I think it needs to be said: The unborn babies can not have Masses offered for themselves. But, we can," continued Benedict. "For the love of God and for the love of His precious unborn babies, I hope many people will take part in this effort that is seeking to protect the innocents from those who would kill them.

" The father of the Culture of Death is Satan himself. To combat this 'liar' and 'murderer', one must engage in spiritual warfare. I plead to members of the Church Militant throughout the world: Have the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass offered for the protection of unborn human persons," concluded Benedict.
